Why Are Home Inspections So Critical?

There are a few key reasons why getting a home inspection done is so important.

There are several reasons why a home inspection is so important. Today, I wanted to share just a few of those reasons.

With as many items as there are on any given property, there’s always the risk of issues going unnoticed. This includes things that may need to be repaired and damage from other factors, like pests.

A home inspection is a great opportunity to not only uncover hidden maintenance issues, but is also a good time to have a pest inspection done in conjunction with the home or structural inspection, as well.

A home inspection is a fantastic resource whether you’re buying or selling.

Wood-destroying insects like termites can be a big issue that without an inspection might slip under the radar.

Ultimately, a home inspector should be able to provide unbiased and non-emotional feedback. As homeowners or as buyers looking at a potential future home, we can often let emotions like excitement get in the way of how observant we are.

The job of a home inspector is to be a clear-headed third party who can give their honest opinion about what needs to be fixed.

Receiving this home inspection will be a good way to gain leverage for negotiations. If you’re buying a home and are getting ready to put together a repair request, a home inspection will be a very credible resource to back up your request.

Home inspections are valuable to sellers as well. If you’re selling a property, a home inspection can be a good way to show buyers that your home is in good condition.

On top of all of this, a home inspection also provides a great checklist of repairs and maintenance. This checklist will include all of your utilities, major mechanical systems, and all other items in your home.

A home inspection is ultimately a fantastic resource whether you’re buying or selling.
